American Eagle Outfitters called on Team R.E.D. to capture the soundtrack of summer with a set of unique artist curated, music festival-inspired playlists to launch their “Up Next” music series for back-to-school.
R.E.D. enlisted a six-pack of top emerging artists including Hunter Hunted, Strange Talk, Desert Noises, De Lux, Tijuana Panthers and Vance Joy for exclusive interviews, handcrafted playlists and memorable moments from their own music festival experiences this year.
While the curated music served as the centerpiece of the Up Next series — R.E.D. worked closely with the bands to make a connection with music fans using their own social media channels including Facebook, Instagram and Spotify.
AEO recently posted interviews with Desert Noises and Tijuana Panthers to their blog which includes fashion guides to the band’s own punk rock stylings — with plans to post one new Up Next artist feature every Monday throughout the summer.
Team R.E.D. also curated a throwback music collection for AEO’s Flashback Friday, which plays in American Eagle Outfitter stores each Friday during the back-to-school season. The music selection was inspired by late 80’s and early 90’s rock, pop and a generous sprinkling of hip-hop.
The lure of summer music festivals for fans and brands is in full swing as the three-day Lollapalooza music festival is set to kick off a fresh barrage of sold out events beginning on August 1st.
